Celebrating 20 years in an industry I love more and more

Deklynd has been cutting and coloring my hair for over ten years. He is without question the BEST stylist in Austin.  I have been stopped by complete strangers at restaurants, in the mall, at the grocery store, at the gym, all asking me who does my hair.  Of course, I give them Deklynd’s information, but I must admit sometimes I’m tempted not to, so I won’t have to wait too long for an appointment …. but he’s worth the wait, so in the end I always give it to them because I know how hard it is to find someone really good that you can trust.  What can I say?  He’s worth the investment.

Griffin is my hair soulmate, I swear.  During your consultation, Griffin will listen to your needs and concerns, ask questions about your lifestyle and make suggestions on what would work best for you.  The end result will be an awesome and stylish cut.  I went in with a boring bob, and now I’m rocking the cutest Katie Holmes/Rihanna-esque cut!  I literally receive compliments on my hair at HEB of all places, as well as anywhere and everywhere I go.  Griffin is also a color specialist, and although I have yet to try color, I am going to give in in the very near future and let him work his magic!

I have been a client of Deklynd’s for about five years. You know how hard it is to find a good hair stylist. When you find one, you don’t leave. Deklynd trained with Vidal Sassoon and no one can cut a bob like he can. He is always on top of the latest cuts and never gives “women of a certain age” old lady hairstyles. He is a master with color, too. He blends the highlights to make my blonde look natural. I have observed I am not the only one who leaves his chair feeling beautiful.

Griffin is Grrreat. I’ve been seeing Griffin for about three years now. He is just too fabulous for words but here I go… I’ve never met a stylist who constantly looks for ways to perfect his craft as much as he does. Whether you give your hair 10 or 60 minutes in your daily routine, he is sure to provide you with the best advise of how to achieve the best looks on the style YOU want. He takes to time to get to know you, your routine, your style, and your expectations and ALWAYS delivers! He started out cutting my hair and is now my colorist as well and I DARE you not to want to fall asleep during your shampoo/head massage time! The salon workers are extremely friendly as well which is always a plus. I promise you, you will not be disappointed! He is easy to talk to, easy to get along with, (easy on the eyes, hehe!), will listen to ALL your concerns or requests, and a professional through and through. I’ve never felt so beautiful and well taken care of!

Deklynd has been my hair stylist for about fifteen years and has continued to provide me with great service.   He is the Best Hair Colorist in Austin.  Deklynd is one of the few hairstylists that really knows how to cut fine hair.   He also is really great with very curly hair.  My daughter Christy’s hair was very long with ringlets from scalp to the end of her strands.  I recently lost my daughter Christy to a horrible crime in Austin and Deklynd offered to help my family during this tragedy.   Thank You Deklynd for all wonderful years of service and for making Christy feel beautiful while she was with us.  Love You, Diana

Griffin is the BEST! He knows exactly what I want my hair to look like even when I have only the slightest idea. I always get tons of compliments and I never get a style that I can’t handle at home.  As a bonus I never feel pressured to buy product, but Griffin always has great suggestions, and tips that I can use.  Griffin is the best, hands down!

Deklynd has been cutting my hair for 10 years and I will not change that.  He does an outstanding job and is very professional.  He is not afraid to make suggestions but does a great job balancing his ideas with my needs.  He is now cutting my childrens hair as well and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I drive all the way from Houston every two months or so to see my hair guru, Griffin. He’s not just a guy who gets my cut right; Griffin is my trusted hair-adviser and friend. He is professional and immediately earned my trust in his expertise–you can tell he knows what he’s talking about. But even more impressive, he’s able to take what he knows and tailor it specifically to what I need. I could tell from the moment I walked in that he was paying attention to my style and my personality and factoring that in to how he pitched my cut and color. You know when you’re trying to explain to your hairdresser what you want and you can tell they have already thrown you into some generic category of hair type and decided what to do to you before you’re even finished explaining your daily routine? Well I refuse to pay a ton of money for that kind of treatment. Griffin makes it worth every penny of the salon prices plus the gas it takes to get to Austin. He was able to carry on an interesting, friendly conversation with crazy, 20 year-old me, but when my mom walked in to see how we were doing he won her and my grandmother over too, both of whom booked appointments with him immediately after meeting him. Griffin is great for everybody because he makes the experience about you.

Deklynd is by far the best colorist around. As a 40-ish redhead, my hair was getting darker and browner. His highlights have brought it back to how my color looked when I was in my teens. I get compliments all the time on my hair. And best of all, no one knows that I color it. So I had to put in my two cents here so everyone will know how great Deklynd is. I’ve been going to him for over eight years.

Griffin is by far the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. He is the best combination of both a talented artist and a caring and compassionate friend. Griffin is the only stylist I’ve had that really listens and makes sure that I walk out the door absolutely loving my hair. And he makes it clear that if I am not 100% thrilled, he will do whatever it takes to get there. There’s nothing like looking forward to a hair appointment because you know you’re in safe, talented hands. He’s changed the way I look for the better, and now I can never move out of Austin because he is here.

Deklynd has been formulating my color for over seven years now. He knows how to make my color appear very natural. His techniques are unique and are what makes my highlights fall so naturally in the style of my hair. He is wonderful! I highly recommend Deklynd.

Deklynd Channing is AWESOME!!! I’ve been in Austin now for four years and have gone to many colorists in search of “the perfect blonde.” I’ve brought in pictures and described in detail exactly what I want, and have never left happy. . . UNTIL NOW!!! Deklynd nailed it without any pictures, just listening to a short description of what I wanted. He gave me a beautiful bright pearly ash blonde with NO YELLOW! He also gave me the most perfectly placed lowlights of the perfect shade to add beautiful dimension. He is truly an artist and is wonderful at his job. I’m not easy to please when it comes to my hair, but I am at complete ease in his chair and trust him 100%!!!

Griffin Rox. I moved to Austin two years ago and was looking for someone to cut my hair here in Austin. I went to Griffin to color and cut my hair. I loved it! Griffin is by far the best hair stylist I have ever had. I have finally found my replacement! He does exactly what you want and will not butcher your hair off. He gives great scalp massages. He is very affordable and worth every penny. He really easy to talk to and a very fun person.

The most fabulous haircut I have ever had. My son attends UT and he had been driving home (4 hours) to use our hairdresser but couldn’t make it last time so he looked on City Search and found Griffin. It was the best cut he had ever had.

When my company transferred me to Dallas, the first thought was “Who is going to do my hair?” I have been a dedicated client of Deklynd’s for five years and absolutely love his color and cut. Plus, he makes me look like a “natural” redhead, when in fact there is not a strand of red in my hair. I tried about five different stylists in Dallas before realizing the drive to and from Austin was definitely worth results I get with Deklynd. I know it sounds a bit extreme, but if you have ever used Deklynd you would understand. It may be crazy, but I have the biggest smile on my face when driving back to Dallas, knowing I look amazing!

Griffin is awesome. I have only been to him once before yesterday and I have an extremely hard schedule to work with as far as setting up appointments. Griffin worked really, really hard to get me in to see him for my second appointment; in fact he set up a special appointment just for me.

Deklynd has been doing my hair for nine years. The first time I went to him, I was in full-blown bad (and I mean BAD) hair color HELL! Deklynd worked his magic on my hair and I was able to hold my head high out in public once again. I can’t tell you how many times I have been stopped in the grocery store, the mall, at the movies, at work – by people asking me who does my hair!! I would follow him to the ends of the earth – he is amazing -as a stylist, colorist and as a person.

We spent several days together working on the perfect look taking into consideration my dress, my style, and his talent.

Deklynd is amazing! I’ve been going to Deklynd for five years, and I have never had less than a fabulous haircut and color. He knows I hate spending a lot of time on my hair, and he knows how to style it so it is practical and looks great for my professional job at the same time. Griffin is terrific. I highly recommend Griffin to anyone looking for a hairdresser. He is cool and edgy, yet fun and knowledgeable. Griffin asked me what I was looking to do with my hair and I didn’t really know. We talked for a few minutes about different options, and after he realized that I wanted a low maintenance cut…he did it up right. It was probably the best cut I have ever had and an all around a great experience!!! I will go back to him for sure and I have told my friends to check him out too. I actually sent one of my coworkers over to him to get her hair colored and she won’t stop talking about it. She says it was the most professional color that she has ever had. I’ve had my hair colored and cut by Griffin several times and have been more and more pleased with the results each time.
